Communicating with Parents
There are a number of noticeboards within the setting which provide a variety of information for parents and carers outlined below:
Noticeboard by Pre-School door - These noticeboards hold information on the Early Years Foundation Stage principles, information for parents from Ofsted and a Weekly Plan for the Early Years Foundation stage. This plan includes activities that the children will be able to enjoy during the week and includes details of what the children might learn from these activities in terms of Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Problem Solving, Physical Development as well as Mathematics, Communication and Language, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design and Literacy.
The Pre-School Committee Noticeboard – This noticeboard holds information from the Pre-School Committee including term dates, dates for the diary and details of staff and committee members.
Session Blackboard – The blackboard is used to inform parents and carers of what the learning aims of the session are, details of the snack offered and any important information such as the requirement for sun cream and sun hats or wellies to be provided for the session.
In addition to the noticeboards to ensure good communication with parents and carers, we issue a half termly newsletter which provides details of any new developments, forthcoming activities, social events, dates for the diary and general news.
